Halloween Post

I intended to post this right after Halloween but got a little busy there for a while.  We had a great holiday.  The kids just wanted to trick or treat forever.  I thought they wouldn't last more than an hour.  The whole month leading up to Halloween is really fun.  When the holiday is over, everything closes down and there's nothing to do anymore.  I don't want to think about Christmas yet, but it gets pushed on me even before Halloween is even over.  I do like Christmas, but in it's own season, which begins after Thanksgiving.  Here are some pictures from our Halloween.

 Trunk or treat
I would not allow my kids to carve a pumpkin, but they had fun getting dirty while cleaning out the seeds.
This was our last day at Lagoon for the year.

I decided that I needed to be scary.

Those are my cute little trick or treaters in semi-homemade costumes.

Fall Time!

I really miss summer but Fall can be a really fun time, especially around Halloween.  Xander has been in Kindergarten since the end of August and he is doing awesome.  He is our child that we spend a lot of time worrying over, but he is making great progress.  He has a best friend at school.  This little boy loves Xander so much that he tries to follow us home when I go to pick Xander up from school.  Xander is learning very quickly and is even starting to read small words.  Wesley hasn't started preschool yet unless you can count the little bit of preschool they do with him when he goes to daycare for about 5 hours twice a week.  He picks up on what his big brother is doing though and seems to be a good learner too.
We go to Black Island Farms every year in the Fall.  They have this huge courtyard with fun slides, animals and a child's play area.  They do some corn mazes and the kids like going through them.  They also have a haunted corn maze.  Jerry and I did that one year and it wasn't really that scary.  I think I like places like the Fear Factory and Haunted Hollow more.
 Hanging out with my superhero.

In this photo Wesley says, "I"m Batman Superman!"
We love going to Frightmares at Lagoon.  The kids love Halloween stuff.  They are not even scared of this weird bat creature.

I had the big birthday and now I never want to mention my age again.  At least my talented sister-in-law made it better by putting my dream vampire on my birthday cake!
Jerry is a wanted man, haha!

My first baby started Kindergarten!  Wesley has to wear his back pack whenever we go to drop him off.
We have spent many days at Lagoon as well thanks to our season passes

Christmas in July!

That is what happens when you have two kids who are 2 years and 9 days apart, both born in July!  I can't believe my July babies are getting so old.  Xander is 5 and Wesley is 3.  It was very exhausting, but over the last two Saturdays we managed to pull off two parties.  I wanted to have a big combined party for the both of them, but then I thought it would be special for Xander to have a friend party, so it ended up being two parties again.

Xander's birthday fell on a Saturday this year, so we celebrated his friend party on that day at a park in Kaysville that has a splash pad.  He had a few friends and some family show up for him.  His current obsession is ninja turtles so we had to have ninja turtle toys and pizza at the party.

The second party was this last Saturday.  It ended up being mostly a party for Wesley but Xander still got a couple gifts.  My talented sister in law also shared her talents and made an awesome cake for each of them.

I'm so happy that family and friends could come to honor my children for their birthdays.  July is a special month, since it's the time when we were blessed with two wonderful kids.  They challenge us a keep us busy nonstop but I know what a blessing they are and what a true blessing it is to be a family.  Xander will be moving on to Kindergarten this fall.  He has come a long way, especially with the speech delays and hearing issues that he has had to deal with.  He is very outgoing and has a very strong personality.  This is a good thing and a bad thing depending on his mood.  Wesley is just my sweet little boy.  He has this calm sweet personality.  He can be very loving.  He almost always has a hug and a kiss for me, sometimes when I really need it.  I'm glad they are a part of our eternal family and I will do my best to raise them to be good men someday and always want to do what is right.  Happy Birthday to my crazy monsters!!!

Summer summer summertime!

We are well into summer now and I have definitely been slacking.  We haven't done anything too exciting.  We are just enjoying the outdoors and the time we get to spend as a family.
Xander graduated from preschool in May.  I can't believe he is going to be in kindergarten this fall.
Pictures from his last day in preschool.
